In December 2006 Radial’s Damian Montagu and filmmaker Christian Banfield traveled to Cape Verde where they spent six days meeting and recording local musicians for a film to raise islanders’ awareness of the dangers of HIV infection.
The Cape Verdean government has broadcast the film and it has been used in education programmes in schools and universities across the islands.
